Yet another in a long line of NME "tips for the top" takes the stage. The pre-request 15 minute late entrance typifies
the slack attitude that appears to run through what they call their "set"
Whether they presume that all the punters present will
be familiar with their works or not, no songs are
introduced; no acknowledgement given of the
audience that moves forward to meet them. Musically
there are promising signs, influences of late 60's guitar
psychedelia seemingly present, and when it's mixed
with some blues type guitar work hope prevails. But
then variety between numbers is slight, until maybe
the sixth or seventh number in, when there is a
change of empahsis. Unfortunately, this appears to be
the signal for the end, and barely 25 minutes after
taking the stage, guitars are downed, Martin Trimble
walks off stage followed swiftly by the other 2
members
With neither the stage
presence to interact
with the crowd, nor
the willingness to
involve them,
frontman Trimble
gives the impression of
someone who is
seriously pissed off, and doesn't particularly mind who
knows. It may affect the numbers who turn up next
time if he lets us know in advance.
