LOAFER  (Roadhouse 23/8/00)

Labelled as the launch of their own Lipstick Head record label, Loafer take to the stage shortly after 11pm after allowing stable mates Fury 161 to squeeze in an extra number or two. JulianThe reduced time means that Julian & Co blast into their first 3 numbers at a pace and vibrancy that  is both entertaining and impressive.    For the die hards that have not disappeared into the night it well worth the wait and for a change Julian actually  has someone to bounce his convivial banter off, as he reaches into his `garden shed' for the next guitar he will use.
Kester equally switches between Hammond organ and guitar, as the band demonstrate the diverse range of sounds that clutter their minds bouncing around trying to find an escape in the form of the live sound.  `Lost In Euston', soon to be re-released in the near future gets another airing, as does favourite `Billy Slag' before  the  sweat soaked band disappear for a well deserved Vodka (NOT Bacardi).  Or is it the other way around?
