Don't let the aKouStiK AnaRKHY associations allow preconceptions of shambolic events to cloud your judgment of
Loose Canon. They are a group of intelligent people, articulate lyricists and knowledgeable musicians who enjoy in
blurring the line between performer and audience. So much so that their events are more of a social gathering of
friends- more of that later
Tonight's occupation of the stage area by said friends is typical of the audience willingness to be part of an occasion,
that invariably sees a guitar or microphones passed around to anyone who wants it
The band mainly wish to dispense their melodic mix of folk and rock with a
dollop of good time feelings and upbeat vibes that would put a sly smile on
the face of Scrooge.
It may seem that everything is put together along the Einstein theory of
randomness i.e. "What are we going to do next?", but it's extremely well
produced and with Paul F on the mixing desk, the sound will be as good as
the venue will allow.
The down side is that they will always struggle to capture the vibrant, live
atmosphere on any studio recording, but it will allow them to display their
ever improving musical talents
Mind you their legendary (well, in the Withington suburb of Manchester at
least) practice sessions occasionally take the guise of a house party at a
friends house with pa and 100+ friends popping around to sing in the sunrise
So if you ever find out that this lot live near you - move, but remember to get
an invite to the party
