Moco

Hygienic, hermetically sealed dollops of Rock'n'Roll as distributed by the Hard Rock Café were hijacked by the sleazy, rampant energy and drive of it's true spirit in the form of Moco, and Moco won a bloodless coup
Poorly publicity meant I missed Hooker, but the place is impressive as a live band venue. I wonder if Jones's tongue drooled the challenge offered in clambering across display drum set mounted at ceiling height, or if the elevated stage that meant he could slide onto onlookers tables and serenade them with one of his "lullabies"
Whatever, we know what the band are like, don't we music lovers, and it doesn't matter how nice and cultured the places looks, they all get the Moco treatment.
With a fine sound system pumping out the guitars and drums of a band that did not so much want to respect the images, so much as re-animate the place with some genuine life and energy that runs through music
Did the management know what was going to happen? More than likely no, but no-one held back Jonesy as he ventured into the dining section, displaying his vocal talents for the benefit of bemused visitors to Manchester's fair city.  Diners checked frantically to see if this was included as part of their orders or if the "Waiter there's a Moco in my soup" question would be met with "… and tonight it's free"
Tonight the Hard Rock Café took on Moco, and Moco won.
