Orinoco Shores

Biography
Orinoco Shores were formed 18 months ago and is the culmination of 4 northern lads with an underlying passion and dedication to music. They set about writing and within weeks had come up with material that not only demonstrated the talent of each individual but also formed the irrefutable sound that is Orinoco Shores.
From the romantic Strawberry Blonde to the anthemic So Beautiful, Orinoco Shores had the product and now they were ready to stamp their authority on the North West music scene.
Firstly they began to play locally at DB's bar club (Winsford) and other smaller venues in and around the Winsford area.
But soon enough they realised that in order to progress in the music industry they had to produce a demo. With this in mind they visited Chill Studios (Stockport) where they recorded their first demo that consisted of three original tracks written by the band.
With the demo at their disposal they decided to play out of town and to date have had very successful performances at venues including The Roadhouse (Manchester), Band On The Wall (Manchester), The Picket (Liverpool) and The Witchwood (Ashton-U-Lynne).
The growth of confidence, superior musicianship and intense hard work earned the band 1st place in the Battle of the Bands competition 2001 held at the Limelight Club (Crewe) which they perceived as their first step in a long haul to the top.
Despite all the success of the last year Orinoco Shores' appetite has yet to be satisfied and the aspirations of hitting the big time burn ever stronger.     As long as Orinoco Shores are producing material that captures audience's imagination the future looks bright for British music.
Orinoco Shores are: Mike Williams (rhythm guitar and lead vocals)
John Wilson (lead guitar and backing vocals)
Karl Jones (bass guitar)
Stewart Gowland (drums and backing vocals)
