	ULTRASOUND  (RIP) MANCHESTER HOP & GRAPE March 99

Hedonistic, pleasures exude from an anything but Tiny Ultrasound as they provide a rich beautiful tapestry of sound and vision.  Big in size, massive in sound and with an empowering stage presence they managed to provide a delight of a concert at a venue that should have been packed to the gills, but one where you could still buy tickets at the door. 

The singles were greeted feverously by the adoring crowd that already knew the lyrics -particularly Floodlit World, with a set list comprising of Cross My Heart, Same Band, Kirk Russell, Aire & Calder, My Impossible Dream, Suckle, Stay Young, encoring with Fame Thing and Everything Picture.

  A team effort in which each player has to contribute; Andy’s naked upper torso producing the driving rhythm; Richard working the finger magic, dancing up and down the frets; Vanessa’s slinky low slung dynamic bass work that pays

homage to the great Peter Hook, all linked inextricably to Tim’s plaintive entreaties.
