In the City so it’s another day, another batch of bands. A different venue, Infinity. The interior, whilst plush and trendy , does make you wonder what they spent the other 2 million of the refit on.Loafer are intent to mark the occasion. Film crew, record moguls and liggers alike abound and Loafer have secured suits from the PDSA at a combined cost of £8.40. very smart they look too, but only for the first number. Selection from the Loafer menu, they embark into `a full bodied gig made up of the finest freshly caught hammond, peppered with broken cockney’

Damn fine it is as well satisfyingly filling, yet contributing towards a fine well balanced diet .

The Castle on Oldham St. seems strangely quiet. Gabrielles Wish are due to play, but the small back room is filled with a selection from Alex's collection.

The band members sit around a table, supping their pint, idling their time away. There is no indication of the maelstrom that is to come. Not so much as gathering on stage but squeezing into the corner that their equipment will allow them, the change upon the players is almost instantaneous. The sound is scathing, the vocals anguished. The effect is refreshing and pure.

Next stagger is to the Night & Day were some rather attractive tunes are emanating from Life Without Buildings. One number is all that is left of the set, but is enough to make one want more.

The final re-fueling point is the Roadhouse which tonight features a special edition of `Organic’ their version of an acoustic event but more. The point of the evening is about the feel for the music, jamming with whoever is their and generally not worrying about feeling a prat on stage but getting up there to try things out. Candles on tables and the relaxed decor help provide the mood. Under these (non) guidelines a procession of musicians appear until a truly spellbindingly, spontaneous event occurs. Whereas people like Clapton & Dylan may form the Traveling Wilburys’ tonight sees the birth & death of a true super group.

Featuring Ricky Cummins (Monomania) on guitar Gary (guitar, Mentalist) and the infamous Alex (seem at every bar/club that has ever featured a band) a moody, rolling rendition of `Riders Of The Storm follows’, to tumultuous applause
